Moms and Babies Get Fit at Baby Boot Camp
After having her second son, elementary school teacher Courtney Williams wanted to stay home with her two boys, now 4 and 2 years old.
“I wanted to live a healthy life with my family while balancing the needs of working and raising the boys,” said Williams.
That’s when Williams learned about Baby Boot Camp, the innovative stroller-fitness program that helps moms regain or enhance pre-pregnancy fitness levels and meet the physical challenges of parenting.
By becoming the local franchise owner, Williams realized that Baby Boot Camp was the perfect program for balancing the fitness needs of new moms with their desire to spend time with their baby or toddler as well as meeting some of the same needs for her family.
Classes are available each Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9:15 a.m. at Bell Tower Shops. The 55 minute sessions are designed for all fitness levels, including prenatal women, and combine strength-training exercises with cardiovascular drills. The cost ranges from $3 to $15 per session. The first class is free.
All instructors are certified personal trainers with certification in pre- and post-natal exercise. Williams has also been a personal trainer through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America since 2006 and has 15 years of dancing experience.
