DaRuMa restaurant to open at Bell Tower Shops

It was announced today that DaRuMa, a Japanese steak house and sushi lounge, will open in 2010 at Bell Tower Shops, Fort Myers’ premier shopping destination.

DaRuMa, named after Bodhidharma, the founder and first patriarch of Zen, will occupy the 8,000 square foot space previously occupied by The Mole Hole, at the north end of the shopping center next to Saks Fifth Avenue. The Mole Hole previously relocated to the west side of the center near Crü.

The Bell Tower Shops restaurant will be the third location in Southwest Florida. Other DaRuMa locations are in Sarasota and Naples.

“We are very excited that DaRuMa will be joining our existing restaurants,” said Becky Thompson, general manager of Bell Tower Shops. “This Japanese steak house will enhance the extensive mix of taste options confirming Bell Tower Shops as the destination of choice for dining and entertaining.”

DaRuMa’s menu will feature traditional Japanese cuisine served tableside or at a teppan-style table prepared by expertly trained chefs. The sushi lounge will offer freshly made selections including sashimi, sushi and makimono.

Bell Tower Shops is an open-air lifestyle center, located at U.S. 41 and Daniels Parkway, with 40 retailers, including Saks Fifth Avenue and The Fresh Market, nine restaurants and Bell Tower 20 Regal Cinemas. The center’s sidewalk garden setting of lush landscaping, splashing fountains and covered walkways makes it a popular gathering place. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the center.
